Michiru's got the most awesome angry looks. It's very scary, because she's not brash like Haruka, but rather very controlled - so when Michiru is angry, it means business. Case in point: [link]

Booya towards the Uncle! :XD: You should have known they'll speak english. Masa is no fool and she is a great single parent mom for all of them! :aww: Poor Michiru didn't had fun at France. =( What the hell, Uncle. You could of hired someone to take Michiru for sightseeing and still do your businesses work over there. You, sir, are not a very good father. ):< *inserts western theme song* Ooooooooh. It is on like Donkey Kong! :XD:

Usagi will always have first bun dibs as long as Haruka is around.

And Franken-daddy loses big points for not at least attempting the Eiffel Tower Tour.

Ten years in the future, Haruka and Michiru are laughing about this, and Usagi is still reaching over panel borders to get to food.

"My children understand English, Uncle."

Well, most of them, anyway. [link="[link]"]

Incidentally, I find it odd that two Japanese people could speak English so well at length. Though I can hardly fault you for

Because they're Japanese? Lots of people are bilingual. Lots of people are multilingual.

True, but many Japanese are famously bad at speaking English. I think the common term for it is "Engrish."

But I don't really want to obsess over that. I really enjoy what you've written here, and this was only just a minor note here. I was just trying to imagine how the strip would sound and something just felt a little off.

BTW, while I was thinking about this language thing, I noticed that Michiru hasn't really said anything yet (other than a person's name, which is the same in any language), and I wonder if maybe she's one of those "children should be seen and not heard" types. That makes sense, given her proper demeanor.

If that's true, then perhaps there's more to her death glare than simple food loss - I wonder if maybe there's some repressed frustration or something. In a sense, she actually reminds me of a young Franziska von Karma - minus the whip of course.

The more I think about this, the more I want to learn about this situation from Michiru's point of view.
