So having looked forward to seeing who Uncle's daughter is for the past few weeks, and joking about it being Michiru, and setting back for a day to think about it...I still cannot come up with anything witty to type here. Usagi is as ridiculously adorable as ever. Haruka and Michiru being wary of each other strikes as true to life, and they look like they'll be those two friends that no one really knows why they hang out but they do.
MICHIRU! <3 I love so many things about this week's installation - tiny little Michiru, Haruka hiding behind Masa's leg and her opinion of her uncle, Usagi's greeting made me giggle and the ending was perfect.
(I really have to wait a whole week for the next part? XD)
I'm not sure if that's the case here... Them "hating" each other, I mean. Michiru just seems a bit shy/nonplussed about the whole deal, and as for Haruka, I think it's probably more Michiru's frilly clothes she's objecting to (we know how she feels about dresses and skirts and such; even Setsuna doesn't dress quite so "girly") and wondering if Michi isn't a sign of things to come for her (answer: Yes, but not even close to the way she probably thinks!).
I can completely accept this, though, as their first meeting. If you remember from that one SMS episode, it wasn't exactly "love at first sight" between them there, either... (I'm not as familiar with the manga.)
It fits, though. Michiru looks like such a little "girly-girl" and Haruka might feel a bit intimidated by that, as much as she does Uncle's (to her) enormous size. And Michiru... Lord knows what she must be thinking about all this.
I don't think they're getting off on the wrong foot, so much as just sizing each other up and deciding "Well... we'll see." I remember being like that myself as a young'un when meeting new kids my own age.
It's all good, though; we know how these two will eventually end up a few years down the line.
Also, before I forget again, Haruka peeking out from behind Masa's leg has got to be one of the most adorable things I've seen her do yet. If it wasn't a brain-breaker to put "moe" and "Haruka Tenoh" in the same thought... aw, what the heck, I'll do it anyway! ^^v
